COMPANY HISTORY

For over 40 years, the name PROMOT Automation has been standing for intelligent, fully automatic and operationally reliable handling of workpieces, pallets and tools as well as constantly finding new, innovative solutions. Perfect efficiency is evident in every system solution. Here are some milestones of the PROMOT success story:

1980
Company founded by Helga Fellinger, Erich Weickl, Karl Neudorfer and Kurt Würrer. From the beginning, the focus has been on automating machine tools and continuously developing these robots. In the 1980s, PROMOT is a pioneer in the transition of pneumatically moved insertion devices to NC-controlled robots. The first modular system for gantry robots is developed.
1990
These years are marked by the product PROMOT Compact S2000. The first standardized modular NC gantry robot for small and medium-sized companies becomes affordable for the first time. Development of the second generation of gantry robots.
1992
Development of storage system „ProSTORE“
1997
Development of stacking cell “Cellmaster”
1999
Development of the third-generation gantry robot
2000
PROMOT Automation wins more and more customers in the automotive industry. This is associated with the further development of the modular system and the company’s growth.
2002
ISO 9001 and VDA 6.4 certification of the company and the first jointed-arm robot systems with KUKA are delivered. Other robot manufacturers follow.
2004
New hall – extension of the operating area by 6,000 sqm (assembly, commissioning, office space).
2005
ISO 14001 certification of the company.
2008
Another milestone is set in the milling area of PROMOT’s production. The changeover from 3- to 5-axis machining takes place, and at the same time the machining centers are automated – the first “Palmaster” system goes into operation.
2010
PROMOT realizes first projects in the field of pallet handling and tool handling “Toolmaster”. With our own master computer software ProSYS, machining centers with batch size 1 can produce highly flexibly and economically.
2015
New gantry loader generation enter the market.
2016
Expansion of the operating area to 18,000 sqm (production area, training workshop, canteen).
2020
A separate product family PROMRO of simple, purpose-built, flexible and standardized robotic cells is launched.
